Double Fold Card - Cardabilities #101

Hello and welcome to a new challenge post for Cardabilities. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Still, I'm excited to share with you a new project using this fabulous sketch:

As always, five designers will be chosen and featured on Cardabilities during the next reveal. So, to motivate you to join the challenge, I made this double fold card:

Materials
Spellbinders: Gold Elements One, Small Labels, Large Labels, A2 Matting Basics A
Graciellie Design Paper - Summer Joy
Prima stamps - Lady Bird

Adhesives: Bazic two sided tape and foam tape, Uhu glue stick, Elmer's glue all
Merletto pearls and crystals
Other generic materials
Cardstocks: Lezard in soft yellow, Feuille in sand beige, Linen in white
5/8" and 7/8" gross grain ribbon in sand beige
1/4" gold edge satin ribbon in vintage gold

To make this card I cut a regular card base and then added one more piece to complete the double fold. After covering the front with patterned paper, I die cut a label shaped window which also frames the image that is attached to the inner fold. To achieve the sketch I used a flourish and some ribbon. And to accent the design I distressed the front of the cardbase with ink and folding.

For the second fold I created a filigree pattern that lets you see through to the inside of the card and added some ribbon. Finally the inside is layered with beige cardstock, where you can write a message or add an inner sentiment. I like how you can see a hint of all those inner layers through the front window.

I was trying to achieve a victorian/vintage look for a summer card. Yellow will be my new pink this summer (I hope) :D Also with the Fifa World Cup going on just now, yellow is possibly in eeeveryone's mind. I know many look forward to winning the cup this time, but we are going to win it again! lol. Both my countries are competing (Honduras / Brazil), so it will be one exciting cup.

Once more I had lots of fun working with this great sketch and playing with my new digital paper pack. I hope you too feel inspired by the sketch and try it out. To join our challenge all you need to do is visit Cardabilities blog, follow instructions and link up your creation. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have a wonderful and creative week! Hasta la prĂłxima...

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast. So the behind the scenes may not ha
