Valentine's Mini Paperpad and a GIVEAWAY

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all of you that so dearly visit me everyday! As promised I have a sweet and cute little project that will make someone´s day today (my sister´s boyfriend)... It´s a mini Valentine´s notepad. This is the project I was working on when my Grand Calibur´s handle broke... Aham, this is the one! The request was to make a pad with the exact number of pages that this couple has been together in days. I could only get to cut 29 pages, they had to be many more, but even so I finished the project. Here it is:

Every page in the pad is embellished. It is supposed to be bulky, but the way I glued the pages together helped to keep it stable. I bind the pages with a method I've seen in Office Depot (referring to the one in my country). They press firmly the pages together, and they apply a special hot glue on the edge of the bulk of paper at the same time that they place a strip of paper (long as the pages are and wide enough to wrap them together). They use a machine for this. But the thing is that so many things can be done at home too, just stay curious and try it out. Here is a picture I found on the web:

I didn't use a wood press, because I worked with fewer and smaller pages. I used a hot glue gun to stick the little pad. You have to be very fast and try to apply the glue evenly and wrap the pages with the strip of paper quickly. And you shouldn't open the pad but until it´s completely dry.

I hope you enjoyed this little project today, and maybe, just maybe you are motivated to try it yourself.

Now for the giveaway! Even better than Valentine´s treats are blog candies don't you think! Today you have the opportunity to win one of my favorite digital paper sets from Shery K. Designs. These are great quality papers that you can print endlessly at home. Each paper measures 12 x 12 inch. You may recall that I use the vintage handwriting paper frequently. This set is one of my very favorites.

Shery is kindly sponsoring this giveaway. If you would like to see more of her designs please visit her shop, at Shery K. Designs

Video Tutorial: Quick New Year's Card with Simple Stories & Deco Foil

I'm back with a fun and really easy to make card for the Holidays or the New Year and I have a video tutorial with Therm O Web today. I'm sure we all are rushing at the very last minute looking for tags and cards and wrapping gifts... I know I always am. That is why my latest Holiday projects have been on the quick and easy side so you can try them out if you need to! The usual theme for New Year's cards is usually monochromatic, metallic... But, what if we used colorful Holiday colors instead? Why not? Well, this time you'll see me use papers from Simple Stories Very Merry Collection. Video Tutorial This is short and sweet video tutorial where I show you how I put together this card. Really with card designing the hard part is figuring out what you want your card to look like in the end but once you have figured out what elements you'll be adding and where you will be placing them the card comes together pretty fast. So the behind the scenes may not ha
